The Calm Break IV

A woman, seen in profile, just before the inhale.

The cigarette rests near her lips,

and the smoke rises slowly, caught in the still air.

This is the first work in the series from a side view,

shifting the perspective and the balance of tension.

Each fracture follows the soft lines of her face and the drift of the smoke,

holding the moment in suspension.
